Alvin, Texas - Brazoria Country - The Brazoria County Parks Department will be host to its second outdoor experience, Discover the Great Outdoors Expo. Activities will include Archery, Youth Air Gun, Casting Skills, Tackle Crafting, Learn to Fish, Rock Climb, Kayak, Virtual Fishing, Something's Fishy, Wildlife See, Touch & Feel, Hooked on Fishing - not on Drugs, Fly Fishing, Bird Banding, Animal Track & Fish Printing, Boating Safety, Birding, Mystery Boxes, Kite Flying and many others; An Exhibitor Village will offer the latest in outdoor merchandise and services and the Outdoor 101 Seminars will provide enough practical know-how to enable you to try the activity out. It's a family outing, everyone who enjoys hunting, fishing and the great outdoors will gather at Resoft County Park located between Alvin and Pearland on Highway 35 for this unique outdoor festival. Our idea of a commute is a lazy canoe ride down Village Creek in the Big Thicket. Beaumont, Texas and the East Texas Gulf Coast is just right for people who enjoy the outdoors or museums. A Birder's Paradise: Bishop, Texas is site No. 87 in the state's Central Texas Coast section of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. Brazosport is located 50 miles South of Houston on the Texas Gulf Coast. Houston County, Texas is "A Paradise in the Pines". Enjoy the unique experience of riding horseback on the beach of South Padre Island at Island Equestrian Center.
