Start your visit at the Abilene & Forts Trail Visitor Center, 625 North 1st Street, inside Frontier Texas! The Visitor Center offers free brochures on Abilene and the surrounding area. Hours: Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Adventure back into the days of the founding of the area at Buffalo Gap Historic Village, and Fort Phantom Hill, where you can visit the ghostly ruins of this 1851 Army post. Take the entire family to Frontier Texas! to experience the region's history from 1780-1880 through holographic spirit guides.

Don't forget to include a visit to The Grace Museum, Abilene Zoo, the Center for Contemporary Arts, the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum, or the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature.
