Old Jail Museum
414 St. Lawrence Street
Built in 1885-1887, the jail was used until 1975. Currently houses
the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture offices.
Texas Heroes Monument
Erected in 1910 to honor those men who fought for and won Texas
independence. The monument shows a bronze statue of a Texas frontiersman
atop a pedestal of Llano granite. The inscription on the north
side reads "Erected By The State Of Texas In Grateful Memory
Of Those Heroes Who Made This Spot Historic As The Birth-Place
Of Texas Independence" Gonzales, Texas 1910.
Gonzales Memorial Museum and Amphitheater
414 Smith Street
A Centennial historical memorial commemorating the 'Immortal 32'
who died in the Alamo. Memorabilia is displayed there from the
founders and early settlers of Gonzales, including the Come & Take
It Cannon, which might have fired the first shot for Texas independence
on Oct. 2, 1835.
 The Eggleston Log House
Located on St. Louis Street east of Memorial Museum.
The oldest house in Gonzales, with period furniture on display.
Visitors are encouraged to step onto the porch of the house and
activate the speaker box, which provides a description of the building
and two illuminated rooms.
Pioneer Village Living History Center
2122 St. Joseph Street
Ten structures built during the 19th century showing a former way
of life in Texas. Buildings including a working broom factory,
a two-story house, the Hamon Church, the Knowles-Townsend House,
The Baker-Seiler Cabin, The Greenwood Cabin, the Smoke House, Blacksmith
Shop, and the St. Andrew-Street House. Guided tours may be arranged
throughout the year. Special events include the Dutch Oven Cook
Off, Old-Fashioned Melodrama, Story-telling Festival, Come & Take
It Battle Re-enactment, Stars Over the Village and others. During
these events, demonstrations of pioneer skills are held for visitors.
