February 11, 2006 - PLAY OR MUSICAL - Columbus: Dinner Theater. Join us at the Stafford Opera House in Columbus for dinner and professionally produced theater. The state’s largest flat floored opera house, this historic site features a raked stage and painted curtains reproduced to look just as those that hung around the stage in 1886 during the building’s theatrical hey day. March 2, 2006 - PLAY OR MUSICAL - Fort Worth: Texas Independence Day Gala Dinner & Show. The Cowtown Opry in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District invites you to remember with us as we gather on the lawn of the Livestock Exchange Bldg. for a historical reenactment and musical variety show celebrating Texas' independence. Cannons will fire, rifles will salute, and General Sam Houston issues a "A Call to All Texans", then join our "Texas Our Texas" Sing-Along. Afterwards, go across the street for the chuckwagon dinner and show. Raffles & silent auction of spectacular Texas items continue throughout the evening. Cowtown Opry is a 5013c non-profit preserving "Old Western" music. Time: 5pm Remembrance of Victory, 6pm Dinner and Show. They resort to disguising themselves as Josephine and Daphne and join "Sweet Sue and her Society Syncopators" on a trip bound for the millionaire-draped shores of Miami. July 29-30, 2006 - PLAY OR MUSICAL - Uvalde: Sahawe Indian Dancer's Summer Ceremonials. The Sahawe Indian Dancers, members of Boy Scout Troop and Venture Crew 181 from Uvalde, present annually their Summer Ceremonials. The fast moving colorful dances of the Plains and Southwest Pueblo Indians are set against a backdrop of teepees to set the mood for the performance. The 90 minute performances feature 16 to 18 different dances that have thrilled audiences for almost 50 years. Time: 8pm. Cost: adults $4, children 12 and under $2. As told by local re-enactors, these strange, heroic, and sometimes tragic tales will have you wiping away tears of both joy and sorrow.
