Dog Days of Summer
Sponsored by Milk-Bone®
This is the only time during the year guests can bring their four-legged friends
to the Garden! Special pet-related activities are planned for Saturday, August
2. Free with admission to the Garden. A donation per dog will be collected and
given as a contribution to local animal groups.

Concerts Under the Stars with Buttercup
The final of three summer concerts, Buttercup will thrill the audience
with a sound that been described as South Texas beach boys mixed
with pop rock. Members include Joe Reyes, formerly of Lara & Reyes.
$5 admission; no charge for Botanical Society members. Picnic foods
and beverages available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs. Gates open
at 6 p.m.
Saturday, August 30 - Sunday, December 7
Terrific Treehouses Exhibit
Through a judged competition, local design teams will create and
build treehouses at the Garden. The exhibit opens Saturday, August
30 with a three-day celebration packed with family activities. Terrific
Treehouses will be on display through December 7. Free with admission
to the Garden.
Thursday, September 18
Art in the Garden
Icelandic sculptor Steinunn Thorarinsdottir will open an exhibit
of work at the Garden. Steinunn’s freestanding aluminum and
iron sculptures will grace the overlook area of the Garden for a
year. Free with admission to the Garden. Susan Budge’s exhibit “Myths,
Magic and Mysteries” which opened in July remains on display.
Visitors can also enjoy sculptures of Jesús Moroles and James
Surls exhibited in the Garden.

Gardens by Moonlight
This annual event has become one of San Antonio’s favorites!
The Garden is filled with a high-charged line-up of live music performances
plus sumptuous culinary treats all under the light of the fall moon.
Bands thus far: Del Castillo, Ian McLagan & The Bump Band, Rodney
Hayden, Mingo Fishtrap, The Marshall Ford Swing Band, Kris Kimura
Quartet and more to be announced. Advance tickets will be available
at the Garden’s web site www.sabot.org or
the Garden Gate Gift Shop for $17. Tickets will also be sold at
the gate for $20.

BOOtanica! Fall Festival
The entire family can celebrate autumn at the Garden. Kids come
dressed in their Halloween costume to participate in games, crafts,
a costume parade, storytelling, spooky science show, creepy, crawly
displays and other spook-tacular activities. The Fall Festival offers
plant sales, and various demonstrations on fall gardening. The Children’s
Vegetable Gardening Program will show the children’s vegetables
that were grown over the course of the program. The event is co-sponsored
by the Bexar County Master Gardeners and the Texas Agrilife Extension.
All activities are free with admission to the Garden.

Garden Train Exhibit and Holiday Fun
Celebrate the holidays at the Garden with a special model train
exhibit, hundreds of poinsettias, blooming orchids in the Lucile
Halsell Conservatory and much more! Free with admission to the Garden.
Sunday, December 7
Last day to visit the Terrific Treehouses exhibit.
Plus don’t forget the Farmers Market every Thursday morning
through December. The San Antonio Farmers Market Association
brings their fresh fruits and veggies to the Botanical Garden
for sale every Thursday, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., from May 8 through
early December.
