Alvin, Texas - Brazoria Country - The Brazoria County Parks Department will be host to its second outdoor experience, Discover the Great Outdoors Expo. Activities will include Archery, Youth Air Gun, Casting Skills, Tackle Crafting, Learn to Fish, Rock Climb, Kayak, Virtual Fishing, Something's Fishy, Wildlife See, Touch & Feel, Hooked on Fishing - not on Drugs, Fly Fishing, Bird Banding, Animal Track & Fish Printing, Boating Safety, Birding, Mystery Boxes, Kite Flying and many others; An Exhibitor Village will offer the latest in outdoor merchandise and services and the Outdoor 101 Seminars will provide enough practical know-how to enable you to try the activity out. Our idea of a commute is a lazy canoe ride down Village Creek in the Big Thicket. Beaumont, Texas and the East Texas Gulf Coast is just right for people who enjoy the outdoors or museums. A Birder's Paradise: Bishop, Texas is site No. 87 in the state's Central Texas Coast section of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. Birders find many species around City Park Lake and Carreta Creek. Only 40 miles away is Padre Island with its 100 mile long beach on the Gulf of Mexico, offering recreation unexcelled in the nation. Brazosport is located 50 miles South of Houston on the Texas Gulf Coast. From wade to jetty fishing, Intracoastal Canal bank and deep sea fishing, the opportunities to catch the big one are year round. Fisherman's Wharf in Port Aransas, Texas. We are the home of the Wharf Cat & Scat Cat; two - 80' long by 30' wide, heated/ac, catamarans. We run 5 hour, 9 hour, and 12 hour fishing trips. Houston County, Texas is "A Paradise in the Pines". Enjoy the unique experience of riding horseback on the beach of South Padre Island at Island Equestrian Center.
